Rebuilding Cities through YTL’s Urban Regeneration:

Revitalising Abandoned Airfields

ABOUT THIS SESSION

YTL's approach to urban regeneration has always been characterised by a deep respect for the local context, evident in our commitment to preserving the unique cultural and historical elements of areas we step foot in. Through strategic master planning, YTL has integrated modern developments with existing architectural heritage and community values. In Brabazon, Bristol, YTL plans to revitalise the space surrounding what was once an airfield for the Concorde into a mixed use development, celebrating its aviation legacy while transforming it into a vibrant urban environment. The development, one of the largest master-planned projects in the United Kingdom, features a new train station, expansive park spaces, dedicated housing and university districts, a 17,000-seat arena and an enterprise district - all projected to create around 30,000 jobs. In this unique master plan, YTL exemplifies how thoughtful urban regeneration can lead to enhanced quality of life, economic growth, and a stronger sense of community.
